November 8 - 11, 2012
Welcome gathering Thursday evening, 8pm
Class begins 9am, Friday
Location: Oak Brook, IL
Oak Brook Doubletree Hotel
Registration fee is for class only. Does not include hotel or
meals. A meal plan will be offered for our group. It is buffet
styled and consists of breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and
Saturday, breakfast only on Sunday.
It is inevitable that each of us will experience three or more of
the great mysteries of life: What is the meaning and purpose of my
life? Why am I ill? Why is my body breaking down? Is there
something else I can do to assist my body and my mind and spirit to
recover vitality? Where is my path to healing? What is my way to
inner peace? Why am I in the Dark Night? What are my unique gifts?
What is the nature of grace and how shall I use my graces in the
world?
In reading these questions, several points become immediately
apparent. First, you are instantly drawn into the depth and
significance of what is being asked because you have asked yourself
at least three, if not more, of these questions. Secondly, you know
intuitively that the answers you are seeking in asking these
questions are not ordinary. These are the questions that redirect
your life path, from one of endless searching to a feeling that you
have found a path worth walking. Thirdly, and again intuitively,
you know that all of these questions stem from fundamental life
questions that are intimately connected to your spirit and to your
health and well-being. These are among the core questions of life
that rise up to meet us at the various crossroads of life.
It is impossible to separate the intimate relationship that exists
between the invisible journey of our soul and the visible,
tangible, aging, and our ever-so-finite physical life. No matter
what we do for a living, no matter which way we approach the
cosmos, no matter how much we would enjoy arguing the existence –
or nonexistence of the Divine – at some point in all of our lives,
the great inner mysteries animate themselves within our fragile
biology, as if to say, “You have little choice but to begin to
truly believe in your own infinity as you confront the inevitable
breakdown of your finite self.”
The subjects of mysticism and health and healing belong together
because they are the subjects that most reflect the way we
ourselves are designed. Further, their very essence and wisdom
speak to us of the truth of the human and the spiritual journey and
what is required of us as spiritual and physical beings to ensure
we are living as consciously and healthy a life as we can.
As always, I could not be with a more brilliant colleague,
physician, scientist, wizard and life-long friend as my partner in
this workshop on Mysticism and Health. Norm is not only a
Harvard-trained neurosurgeon, but he created the field of pain
management among so many other “firsts,” including pioneering the
field of medical intuition. It was Norm who coined the professional
title, “medical intuitive” twenty-nine years ago when we first
partnered together to explore my ability as an intuitive. (Since
then, hundreds of thousands of people have claimed the title.)
Norm has also studied mysticism for decades with an emphasis on the
connection between spirituality and physical health. I’ve been a
medical intuitive for almost thirty years, beginning my training
with Norm. Through him, I have made significant contributions to
the field of energy medicine and of course, medical intuition.
We consider this workshop on Mysticism and Health to be a master
class for us as it gives us the opportunity to teach the best of
decades’ worth of work and research in medicine, science,
mysticism, archetypes, spirituality and spiritual crises, and
medical intuition. Norm has maintained for decades now that
mysticism is the search for God. Religion is the fight for God.
True mysticism arises from the instinctive, intuitive NEED to
understand the cosmos, to communicate with the divinity of the
universe, to achieve MEANING in life, to become “conscious” or
enlightened.
To a great extent illness is the result of neglect of the intuitive
understanding of SELF. Ignoring or forgetting our intuitive
connectedness with nature, our rational, logical brain often
neglects the common sense awareness of risks. Thus, in the
scientific world, risk of harm is often ignored in favor of a 50%
chance of help. Nuclear and chemical scientific discoveries have
controlled the industrial world, ignoring pollution and beginning
to jeopardize health. It is as important to include an
understanding of the impact of environmental toxins on your health
– whether physical or psychic – as it is on recognizing what you
are doing personally to hinder or help yourself.
This Mysticism and Health course will offer participants a very
full program, in keeping with our desire to cover topics that are
spiritual, personal, transformational in nature as well as those
intended to assist in personal healing. Among the topics we will
present are the following:

Love,
Caroline
