We are living in a time like no other, awash in crisis, poised between the end of one era and the beginning of another. Change and challenge surround us. It has never been more important to find a way to be centered and connected to the sacredness of our lives. This workshop will look at one of our greatest crises, our common disconnection from spiritual experience, and offer contemplative, clinical, and personal approaches to help guide us back to healing and wholeness.
Crisis or trauma can also be a gateway to the transformation that beckons each of us to what we are meant to become. While suffering has often been an inherent part of an authentic spiritual life, so has the liberation we find by working through it. We know this in our hearts, but getting to that place of inner strength takes the guidance of a person who has made the journey.
James Finley is an expert on the journey into the soul. He is a former Trappist monk whose spiritual director was the renowned Thomas Merton. He has worked as a psychologist and spiritual director for over 30 years, utilizing his inner mystical wisdom and background that includes a history of personal trauma and transformation.
Caroline will describe the stress patterns, both physical and archetypal, that are involved in familiar experiences of trauma, such as violence, betrayal, and addiction, and provide insight into how to transform those inner challenges.
This unique workshop will include lectures by Caroline and James Finley and offers this challenge: “Do not break faith with what your awakening heart knows to be true.”
